Financial Resources
Description
- Recruit and hold Individual donors/members
- Secure grant funding
- Develop service/consulting revenues
- Develop processes
There are a number of volunteer positions available for our financial resources team:
- Grant opportunity researcher
- Supervised by Grant Supervisor
- Time commitment: 10-20 hours, twice per year
- Research foundations that might be appropriate for LCEA to apply for grant money from, e.g. via Foundation Center database in San Francisco
- Grant writer
- Supervised by Grant Supervisor
- Time commitment: 5-20 hours per grant application
- Work with Grant Supervisor and staff to write project-specific grants
- House party organizer
- Supervised by Fundraising lead
- Time commitment: 10-20 hours per house party
- Draft and send invitations, manage RSVPs
- Manage logistical preparation and delegation of tasks
- Work with Fundraising lead to create program for event
- Support house party host with with event preparation and/or clean up on day of event
- Donor phone bank trainer
- Supervised by Fundraising lead
- Time commitment: 10-15 hours per phone bank
- Work with Fundraising lead to develop phone banking script
- Support in organizing phone bank, working with volunteer coordinator to invite volunteers to attend
- Train volunteer phone bankers on day of phone bank
- Business/legal consultant
- Supervised by Fundraising lead
- Time commitment: periodic support with new contracts
- Support in contract negotiation for consulting services
- Support in reviewing potential conflict of interest issues
- Support in case we transition to 501(c)(3)
Qualifications:
- A passion for the clean power, healthy communities perspective of the LCEA
- General knowledge/background regarding renewable energy and renewable energy policy
- Good research and analysis skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Responsible, very organized, and detail-oriented
